Man Utd great Yorke: Arsenal's van Persie will be looking for silverware

Robin van Persie will be hoping to sign with a club where he can make sure he wins some silverware according to Dwight Yorke.

The Arsenal captain continues to be linked with Yorke's former club Manchester United as well as reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and Italian giants Juventus and the ex-Trinidad & Tobago international feels the Dutchman will seek a home where he can vie for titles after a lean seven years in North London.

"With the season he had last year and we know he has always been a great talent but obviously he has had his injury worries so he hasn't really been able to consistently showcase his ability," York told tribalfootball.com.

"The one thing is that when he is fit he has certainly shown that he is a quality player and a quality striker. There's no surprise that the likes of United are after him.

"But he's at the age now where he needs some silverware for his fantastic personal achievement and there's no better place (than United) to try and cap it off."

Dwight Yorke was speaking at the official opening of the Mizuno Performance Centre - open to the public between the 24th July and 12th August at Centre Point Building, 101- 103 New Oxford Street. Visit www.mizunoseiei.com for further details.
