Man Utd great Macari hoping that bubble does not burst for Tottenham's Kane

Former Manchester United star Lou Macari has urged everyone to keep the hype surrounding Harry Kane under control.

Kane is arguably the best young talent to have emerged from England in recent times and the media, as well as the fans, have all been raving about the striker.

Following his wonderful form for Tottenham, the 21-year old was recently rewarded with a call-up to the England national team and many have backed the young man to go on and lead the Three Lions into a successful new era.

While one can understand all the excitement regarding Kane, Macari believes that all the hype surrounding the Spurs' youth product could potentially prove detrimental to his progress.

Macari wrote in his column for the Stoke Sentinel: "I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Harry Kane's sake. I just hope all the hype surrounding him comes under control - and that all the hype so far doesn't go to his head.

"I'm told that he has worked very hard to get where he's got and I just hope he carries on working just as hard to try and get to where he wants to go.

"We are guilty here of building people up far too much, probably because we are so short of genuine heroes these days."
