Man Utd great Ferdinand set for QPR move

Rio Ferdinand is on the verge of completing a 12-month move to QPR.

The 35-year old central defender is a free agent after leaving Manchester United earlier this summer and it looks increasingly likely that he will make the move to west London ahead of the 2014/15 Premier League season.

The Daily Mail reports that Ferdinand held talks with R's boss Harry Redknapp in a London hotel on Wednesday night after returning to the UK following his time spent in Rio de Janeiro for the World Cup.

Ferdinand was first linked with QPR in early June and it has been widely suggested that he would sign for the top flight returnees but a wage dispute has stalled the completion of the transfer.

However, Ferdinand's former West Ham United boss Redknapp is confident that he can come to an agreement with the six-time Premier League winner.
