Manchester United have been encouraged in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The Mirror says United's chances of doing business with Dortmund have been lifted by the interest that last season's Champions League finalists are showing in Shinji Kagawa.
Gundogan is moving towards the final year of his contract and his agent father, Irfan, has said his son will be open to offers.
If the German club firm up their interest in Kagawa then United will look to use him as a makeweight in a deal that involves Gundogan or Marco Reus.
