Manchester United are not pushing to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, it has been revealed.
The Manchester Evening News says Schweinsteiger, who is at the World Cup with Germany, is not one of Louis van Gaal's top targets, despite the Dutch boss and the midfielder's excellent working relationship during their time together at Bayern.
Van Gaal, though, is likely to wait to see how Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman recovers at Roma after a knee ligament injury.
