Man Utd fullback Shaw tribute to England skipper Rooney

Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw has paid tribute to skipper Wayne Rooney ahead of his 100th England appearance.

Rooney, who made his England debut in February 2003, is set to lead Roy Hodgson's men out in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia as the Three Lions look to maintain their 100 per cent start in Group E.

"What he's done has been unbelievable, for club and country. It's been spectacular," Shaw told ManUtd.com.

"When you look at it, 100 caps for England is one of the biggest things you can achieve. I'm sure he and his family will be proud and everyone at United is extremely proud of him too.

"Great credit goes to him because he deserves it and hopefully there are many more [caps] to come. He showed people in the last game what he's capable of and what he can do in games."
