Manchester United fullback Rafael was knackered going into their thrashing by Liverpool.
The Mirror says Rafael only had a few hours sleep before the 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool - as he was at the birth of his latest child.
Right-back Rafael gave away the penalty that handed the Anfield side the lead and was also booked for a wild tackle on Steven Gerrard.
However the Old Trafford star at least had a genuine excuse for his display as he only got to his bed about 5am after being with his wife in hospital.
Rafael wanted to be at the birth - with the blessing of boss David Moyes - and his pre-match plans were disrupted as a result.
