Manchester United fullback Guillermo Varela is facing fresh ankle surgery.
The Daily Star says Varela reportedly requires a second operation on his ankle.
Varela, 23, joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan from United last summer.
He had to go under the knife after suffering an ankle injury during his second game for club back in September.
The Uruguayan defender was finally able to return to action in last month's 2-0 defeat at Hertha Berlin.
Kicker reports Varela has been dealt an unexpected setback.
They claim he will undergo another operation due to pain being caused by a screw inserted during the original procedure.
He should however be able to make a quick return.
