Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra says they've dealt title rivals Manchester City a psychological blow with victory on Sunday. United's derby win ended the champions' unbeaten home league run of 37 games stretching back nearly two years.

And Evra believes it has given United a huge psychological advantage in this season's title race.

He said: "It was important to win at City and give a sign out to them.

"Psychologically, it was really important."
