Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra says France's players have been put off by the vuvuzelas.
Evra captained Raymond Domenech's side to a disappointing 0-0 draw with ten-man Uruguay in Cape Town on Friday.
Thousands of local fans blew the metre-long plastic horns, making a noise like a swarm of bees - although the din was nothing compared with that at South Africa's opener against Mexico.
But left-back Evra, 29, complained: "We can't sleep at night because of the vuvuzelas. People start playing them from 6am.
"We can't hear one another out on the pitch because of them."
