Man Utd fears allayed over Blind injury

Manchester United have been spared further bad news regarding the injury sustained by Daley Blind.

The 24-year old midfielder was initially expected to be sidelined for up to nine months after he suffered the knee ligament injury in Holland's 6-0 Euro2016 qualifying win over Latvia on Sunday.

After the match, Oranje boss Guus Hiddink's forecast for Blind was not all that positive which struck fear into the hearts of United fans.

"I'm rather negative," he said. "I think it's a medial ligament that is twisted. It might be a rupture."

However, results of a MRI scan have cleared Blind of a rupture and it is now being reported that he will be out until the New Year due to a slight tear in the ligament.

Blind joined the Red Devils from Ajax for £14million in the summer and has been impressive in the early stages of his Old Trafford career.
