Aston Villa management are becoming increasingly resigned to losing Ron Vlaar when he comes off contract. The club captain's current deal expires in June.
The Express & Star says Villa are increasingly resigned to losing Vlaar to Manchester United in January, with the Holland defender regarded highly by manager Louis van Gaal.
