Manchester United fans will be better for their struggling campaign this season.
That's the claim of Sean Bones, vice-chairman of the Manchester United Supporters' Trust.
"A lot of the younger supporters have known nothing but success," he told BBC Sport.
"It's become part of our identity, part of our ego. They have certain expectations and when the team doesn't live up to those expectations, people get upset.
"But I'm old enough to remember when we got relegated [in 1973-74]. And while at the time it felt like the world had ended, the season we had in the Second Division was one of my favourite seasons of all time."
