Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho feels fans are the happiest they've been since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mourinho believes they go to Southampton today on a wave of optimism that they can recapture the glories and style of the Ferguson era.
He said: “They won the FA Cup under Mr [Louis] Van Gaal but I don't think it's about a specific moment of winning a specific competition.
"It is something more global, where the club financially looks really strong – better than ever according to the numbers.
"Where the football team is improving, not just in results but also in a certain style of play.
"Where the connection between the players, the team, the fans looks stronger and stronger.
"Where Manchester United fans around the world have more reason to smile than in the recent past, so it is about globality."
