Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to test the resolve of Juventus with a major bid for Artur Vidal. The 25 year-old Chile international's agent is close to Ferguson and the United manager sees his ball-winning ability as an ideal addition to his midfield.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are also tracking Vidal, however Ferguson has so far shown the most interest.

An offer as high as £20 million cannot be ruled out and Ferguson will enjoy dealing a blow to Juve over the manner of their deal for Paul Pogba in the summer.
