Manchester United failed with a world record bid for new Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, it has been revealed. United made a huge offer of around £125m for former Tottenham ace Gareth Bale, according to reports in France.
Boss David Moyes has refused to confirm or deny the fee but has hinted United will continue to chase the top stars after a dreadful transfer window.
He said: "I have said many times we are always bidding for the best players."
And on Friday, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said: "I know that Tottenham received a higher bid for Gareth Bale than the one from Real Madrid."
