Manchester United failed with a massive deadline day bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira yesterday.
In a sure sign United manager David Moyes has concerns over his midfield, Cadena Cope says the Premier League champs offered €40 million for Germany international Khedira.
The bid for Khedira arrived after Real had sold Mesut Ozil to Arsenal for €50 million.
The Madrid giants chose to turn down the offer, with coach Carlo Ancelotti insisting he was counting on Khedira for the first-half of this season.
