Manchester United face missing out on Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.
The Daily Express says Hummels is considered to be one of the finest ball-playing defenders in the game, and United are keen on bringing in a top replacement for the outgoing Nemanja Vidic.
But any chance of United landing him will depend on their diminishing Champions League qualification chances.
Barcelona are favourites for the Germany international.
