Man Utd face battle to keep coach Meulensteen from Qatar
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson faces a battle to keep hold of coach Rene Meulensteen.
The Mirror says Meulensteen is wanted by Qatar as the man to run their national football team and boost them as they bid for World Cup qualification - and lifting their status before a bid to host the finals.
The highly-rated Dutchman is one of Ferguson's top aides, working beside the manager and assistant Mike Phelan. Many think he is the 'brains' of the operation.
The Qataris already know Meulensteen from his time as their youth team manager, helping some of their better players to develop before he came to Old Trafford.
