Manchester United and Everton were represented at the USA's 6-1 thrashing of Poland in yesterday's U20 World Cup clash.
Freddy Adu, the teenage sensation linked with Manchester United, scored a hat-trick as the United States recovered from a goal down to thump the Poles.
Adu, 18, said he wanted to showcase his skills at the youth championship to impress European clubs. The Real Salt Lake midfielder is in his fourth season in Major League Soccer and is playing in his third U-20 World Cup.
Also getting on the scoresheet was Danny Sztela, who is a long-term target for Everton and reportedly set to join the Merseysiders after the tournament.
