Manchester United go into a European tie tonight for the first time in 28 years without Sir Alex Ferguson.

This is United’s first European fixture without Ferguson in charge since March 20, 1985, when Ron Atkinson’s side lost on penalties to Videoton FC in the UEFA Cup.

David Moyes will take charge for his first Champions League group game against Bayer Leverkusen.
