Man Utd encouraged to bid for Roma striker Vucinic

Manchester United are weighing up a move for AS Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

Roma director general Walter Sabatini confirmed his sale was "probable," but they would prefer to sell him abroad rather than reinforce rivals Juventus.

There has already been Premier League interest this summer from Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers, but Vucinic was unimpressed with their proposals.

If Manchester United do make an offer close to his €20m asking price, then the hitman could well be heading for Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Vucinic in the past for his tactical versatility, as he can play as a striker or on the left side of midfield.
