Gareth Bale is prepared to quit Real Madrid this summer for a Premier League return. The Welshman has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in recent days.

The Sunday Mirror says Bale, 25, is prepared to spend another year at the Bernabeu to try to win over the doubters - but would be willing to come back to the Premier League if the right offer arrives.

He has always been open to the prospect of joining Manchester United and if they come calling this summer - as expected - it will prove hugely tempting.

The Welshman has decided he wants his two-year-old daughter educated back home and plans to put down long-term roots with partner, Emma.

So it seems increasingly likely Bale will be back in the Premier League within 18 months at most, or in January if United can come up with the right package.
