Man Utd employ counter-terrorism chief

Manchester United have hired a former inspector from Greater Manchester Police in the role of counter-terrorism chief, a report from the Daily Mail has claimed.

The role, which is the first of its kind for a Premier League club, is aimed at increasing the security at the club in the aftermath of recent terrorist attacks across Europe.

The new recruit is reportedly worked in Greater Manchester Police's specialist search unit and has former training in covert police operations, including terrorism.
