Man Utd derby hero Rooney breaks 150-goal record

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was thrilled to hit the 150 goals mark yesterday in victory at Manchester City. He became the youngest player to hit 150 Premier League goals - as Manchester United moved SIX points clear at the top of the table.

Rooney fired a sensational double to help United beat deadly rivals Manchester City 3-2 in a dramatic derby at the Etihad.

The hitman said: "It feels fantastic. It's a great day for us, to go six points clear and beat our closest rivals, especially with what happened last season.

"We've waited a long time for this to happen and I'm sure it means everything to everyone at the club and all the fans. We're delighted that we can celebrate."

Rooney reached his nifty 150 at the age of 27 years and 46 days.

That beat the record of Thierry Henry, who bagged No 150 for Arsenal when he was 28 years and 150 days.
