Manchester United defender Chris Smalling hopes to see action for England in the coming days.
The 23-year-old is looking to help England pick up two home wins over Montenegro and Poland that would clinch qualification for the tournament in Brazil.
"There are a lot of international breaks, it's like you're half playing for United and half for England," he told United Review. "But it's an exciting time as well.
"Hopefully, England can qualify for the World Cup, we don't want to have to go into the play-offs in November. It'd be nice to play a couple of friendlies knowing that, if I have a successful season with United, I can go to Brazil. What a way to end the season that would be.
"It's definitely a massive stage [at the finals]. I was injured when we played out in Brazil in the summer and the players all said they really loved it out there. I'm hoping now I'm in the team that I can stay there and, if I'm playing well at United, I can have a chance of being involved in Brazil - if we get there."
