Chris Smalling thinks Wednesday night's win over Bournemouth has handed Manchester United the perfect platform to win Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Smalling bagged United's first goal as they ran out 2-0 winners at the Vitality Stadium.

On reaching the FA Cup final, Smalling told BTSport: "That's been our goal now for a while to reach that final and this was the perfect performance to run up to that."

He added: "We all knew that against West Brom it wasn't good enough and tonight we put a performance on.

"Quite often when I get my goals they come together, it's nice to score."
