Manchester United defender Chris Smalling was delighted to be part of their Community Shield triumph yesterday.
Smalling is hoping he has no injury problems of his own this term after seeing last season disrupted by a broken metatarsal and another foot injury.
"I'm feeling a lot more confident," he said. "Last season was very frustrating, missing the start and the end.
"Hopefully I can play a lot more games, get the faith of the manager and kick on because I've missed enough football as it is."
