Man Utd defender Jones praises Arsenal performance

Manchester United defender Phil Jones admits Arsenal were impressive for yesterday's 1-1 draw.

He felt the outcome could have been worse based on the early action, better on the evidence of the latter stages.

"In the first half, I would have said a point was a good result," he said. "But having seen what we put on in the second half, I thought we carved out a lot of chances and we're disappointed not to have come away with all three points.

"Full credit to Arsenal, they took us by surprise and came at us all guns blazing in the first 15 to 20 minutes and we couldn't really get a grip on the game. But I think once we got on the ball with Michael Carrick, Wazza (Wayne Rooney) got in the pockets [of space] and we got the ball wide to Nani and Antonio Valencia, we created a lot of chances.

"The manager said at half-time that if we created more chances we'd win the game. I think we created three or four chances and perhaps could have stuck one or two more in the net."
