Man Utd defender Ferdinand "would love to play for England again"

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand hopes to hear from England coach Roy Hodgson.

The path looks clear for the Manchester United star to return after Chelsea captain John Terry announced his international retirement on Sunday, the eve of his FA race charge hearing.

"He would love to play for his country again," a source close to Ferdinand told the Daily Star last night.
