Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is going to Brazil as a BBC World Cup pundit.

The BBC have announced that Ferdinand, who has 81 caps for England, will provide analysis and insight during the tournament, which runs from June 12 to July 13.

"I can't wait to be involved in the BBC's coverage, both as a studio pundit and with all the other exciting opportunities we're working on," said Ferdinand.

"I really want to provide a different sort of insight and analysis, sharing my experiences of what it is like to be an England footballer at a major tournament."
