Man Utd defender Ferdinand prepared to play with Terry for England

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is prepared to play alongside Chelsea's John Terry for England.

The Telegraph says Ferdinand, who controversially lost the captaincy to Terry last year, does not want to regain the armband but says that he would still be "delighted" to play for England.

Sources close to Ferdinand confirmed on Tuesday that this stance is unaffected by the news that Terry also intends to keep playing. Terry is currently injured with a bruised knee bone but is targeting Chelsea's Champions League match against Napoli on Feb 21, eight days before England are due to play Holland.
