Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is going green for his next home.
The Mirror says Ferdinand, 32, plans a seven-bedroom pad in two acres as a retreat for himself, wife Rebecca, 30, and sons Lorenze, four, and Tate, two.
The Georgian-style property on the outskirts of South East London will have heat pumps powered by the ground, special films on windows to curb heat loss and tanks to re-use rainwater.
Rio vowed to become greener after working with energy giant and FA Cup sponsors E.ON - and is teaching his kids to follow suit.
He said: "It has opened my eyes. Saving energy comes down to simple things like installing LED lighting or putting in the right boiler. If I can replicate that in my house, that's a positive thing.
"If I can become more educated I can pass that on to my children and hopefully they can have a better start at being greener."
