Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is as "baffled" as Sunderland boss Steve Bruce over Asamoah Gyan's decision to leave for a loan move to Al Ain.
Gyan has quit Sunderland for football in the UAE - which has shocked everyone in England.
Ferdinand tweeted: "Wow Gyan left the PL for UAE....at 23 or what ever he is, #baffled! If he was in 30s I could understand....
"By the way that's no offence to the league in the UAE its just surely any young player should aspire to play in the best leagues + PL is 1.
"I'm going to the UAE soon for a holiday so will check out the standard of the league out there. The weather, people+food is great, the league...we'll see."
