Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is being blamed for sparking this week's tunnel bust-up at Newcastle United.
The Daily Express says Ferdinand sparked the row by launching a verbal assault on Newcastle's Steven Taylor as the teams left the pitch at half-time, moments after Taylor had hit Cristiano Ronaldo with his forearm when trying to get past him.
A player who was in the tunnel at the time was quoted saying: "There was a melee involving players from both sides, but the United player most involved with Taylor was Rio."
