Manchester United defender Jonny Evans was a surprise selection for victory over Everton.
Evans admitted he was delighted to be back after a three-match suspension.
"It was a good performance from us today," he told MUTV. "The manager made a lot of changes, including myself coming in and players who haven't really played that much in a while, and it was a big gamble. I'm sure people looking at the team sheet would think 'this is a big gamble', but that's what the manager does here and it paid off.
"The suspension seemed like it was going on forever because of the international break, there was two weeks between the games. The manager even asked me last week when the suspension was up! You've just got to keep patient and I've been working quite hard to keep my fitness up for if I ever got the chance to come in, and I didn't feel too bad."
