David Moyes is keen to land Brown, 31, in a £4m deal in the hope his vast experience will bolster the Toffees' defence, says the Daily Star.
Former England star Brown has already rejected a move to Sunderland but is considering a switch to Goodison Park and has asked for time to consider his options.
