Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has flown back from the US.

The Manchester Evening News says the 35-year-old underwent an operation on his cruciate ligament after he injured himself in the 2-1 win against Anderlecht last month and is expected to be out until January.

The Swede is out of contract at Old Trafford in the summer and although it is highly unlikely that he will play for United again it is believed that Jose Mourinho has offered him the Manchester United facilities to recover from his injury.

His next career move is yet to be decided but he is definitely returning to Europe in the meantime as he was pictured on a private jet with his former team mate and friend Ignazio Abate.
