Man Utd convinced Martial agent's exit ploy all about pay-rise

Manchester United directors are unhappy with the agent of Anthony Martial for going public about the striker wishing to leave.

Martial's representative Philippe Lamboley revealed earlier this week that the United striker wants out this summer.

The Daily Star says United officials think it was merely an attempt by Lamboley to turn the screw on the club after talks over a new contract for Martial stalled.

He's got just a year left on his contract, although the Manchester giants have the option to trigger a one-season extension.

United don't want to sell Martial, who Premier League rivals Tottenham are keen on.

Jose Mourinho still sees the French ace as part of his plans and think he'll have a key role to play next term as they bid to hunt down rivals Manchester City.
