Man Utd consider introducing terracing

Manchester United are considering re-introducing terraces to Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail says United will investigate the re-introduction of terracing following a meeting with supporters' groups over ways of improving the matchday atmosphere at Old Trafford.

A number of obstacles stand in the way if the champions are to bring standing back to the Premier League, 24 years after it was banned in the wake of the Hillsborough tragedy which saw 96 Liverpool fans lose their lives.

The stadium's exits and passageways are too narrow to allow to the greater number of supporters to a safe-standing area.

United chief executive Ed Woodward has expressed his willingness to investigate the viability of the standing areas which has slowly been gaining momentum in recent years.
