Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 500th career goal in Wednesday night's Champions League outing.
The Portuguese forward netted a brace for Real Madrid as they defeated Swedish club Malmo 2-0 in their second group stage match of Europe's premier club competition.
The double took Ronaldo's overall tally for club and country to a remarkable 501 from 753 matches which includes a record-equalling 323 from 308 for the Spanish giants.
During his career, which started 13 years ago, Ronaldo has scored five goals for Sporting Lisbon, 55 for Portugal and 118 for Manchester United, who took to Twitter to acknowledge the fantastic achievement.

Ronaldo also has a record 82 goals in the Champions League with 67 of those coming in 65 European appearances for Madrid.
