Man Utd confirm Rooney out for three weeks

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Wayne Rooney will be out for up to three weeks with an ankle injury. The England international limped out of United's 2-2 draw with Bolton in the 61st minute on Sunday.

He had already been ruled out of the Red Devils' UEFA Champions League clash with Valencia on Wednesday night and now Ferguson has confirmed the full extent of the injury.

The United boss said: "It will be two to three weeks. But it depends because Wayne has done quite well with his recovery from injury in the past."

Meanwhile, Ferguson also confirmed that midfielder Paul Scholes will be sidelined for 10 days with a calf problem.
