Manchester United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen has confirmed the club is interested in Ajax young gun Christian Eriksen.
The 19-year old Denmark international has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in world football and United have revealed they are monitoring him closely but are yet to make contact with Ajax regarding a potential deal.
"But that is to be expected. If people weren't looking, no-one would ever have an opinion on these players.
"It is true that a player like Eriksen would fit our transfer policy.
"He is being strongly linked with us, but to suggest that we are about to make a move is not true.""This is a player that is on our radar," Meulensteen told Voetbal International.
