Man Utd confident Heinze appeal will fail

Manchester United are confident any planned appeal from Gaby Heinze over a ruling denying him the chance to join Liverpool will fail.

A Premier League panel decided that a letter from United did not constitute consent for the Argentine to leave.

The panel suggested the letter's wording made it clear United would sell Heinze, 29, to an overseas club.

United chief executive David Gill said: "We're pleased the panel has endorsed our case."
