They are also wary of the cost of the transfer and the complicated deal that would need to be completed.

The Real Madrid forward has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave Spain because of tax fraud allegations.

Spanish authorities have accused the Portugal international of evading £12.8m between 2011 and 2014.
