United won the national reserve league trophy on penalties at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Solskjaer was fascinated by Albrighton's duel with United full-back Joe Dudgeon.
The Tamworth-born 20-year-old's fine exhibition of wing play left him in no doubt why Kevin MacDonald's outfit have been so potent in attack over the past three seasons.
"When Delfouneso scores two, you have your eyes on the front two, definitely," he told Villa's website. "But Albrighton is a great winger.
"It is a dream for a striker to have a player like him putting in crosses. He is direct, he is positive, he is quick and he has a good cross.
"He is not the biggest but he and Dudgeon had a real good battle out there.
"They made it a great game. Of course, we know the history Villa have had in the last three years in this championship."
