Man Utd coach Neville urges Gerrard to continue with England

Manchester United coach Phil Neville has called on Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard to continue with England.

Gerrard is weighing up international retirement after a poor World Cup.

But Neville told BBC Sport: "Roy Hodgson's biggest task now is to make sure Steven Gerrard does not retire from international football.

"I am glad Gerrard has not made any rash decisions and is taking time to decide on his future with England because we need his experience in there to help the younger players coming through.

"There are plenty of other players who continue to play for their country well into their 30s. It is about adapting your game and he has already done that."
