Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen admits they were stunned by Nani's red card in defeat to Real Madrid.

The Dutchman says no-one on the home bench expected it.

"The sending-off screwed up the game. Nani does not see Arbeloa coming. He was going for the ball. You think perhaps Nani will get a yellow card - the red card came out of nowhere."
