Manchester United chiefs are confident David de Gea will soon a new contract.
The Sun says United hope De Gea will sign his new long-term deal - now the door to Real Madrid is closed.
Real Madrid sealed a £38 million swoop to take Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last week.
That clears the way for de Gea to commit his future to United by formalising a new contract in the next few weeks.
His current deal is due to expire in June although the club have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
Senior sources at Old Trafford believe Courtois' move has made life easier for them in the bid to hang on to their man.
