Man Utd chiefs assure Mourinho job safe even if Cobblers win

Defeat at Northampton tonight won't put at risk the job of Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

The Sun says even a fourth successive defeat at Northampton in tonight's EFL Cup-tie will not alter the unshakeable boardroom belief in him.

Ed Woodward, the man who put his neck on the line by hiring Mourinho to replace FA Cup-winning manager Van Gaal, is unmoved.

There is no threat to Mourinho's job. They trust him to bring back the glory days after three desperate years under Moyes and LVG.
